Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to follow the recommended guidelines for manuscript preparation. Submissions must adhere to the journal’s bibliographic and formatting standards. Examples of commonly used citation formats are provided below to assist authors in preparing their manuscripts correctly.


1. Manuscript Format

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) only.

  • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12 (main text), Size 10 (footnotes).

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing for main text; single spacing for footnotes.

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

  • Word Limit: 3,000–10,000 words (including references and footnotes).

  • Language: English, grammatically correct and clear.


2. Structure of the Manuscript

  • Title of the paper (bold, centered)

  • Author’s name(s) & affiliation

  • Abstract (150–300 words)

  • Keywords (4–6 relevant terms)

  • Main body of the paper with clear headings

  • Conclusion

  • References / Bibliography


3. Citation & Referencing Style

The journal follows a flexible citation approach. Authors may use:

  • APA Style (7th Edition)

  • Harvard Referencing Style

  • Bluebook (21st Edition) – preferred for legal submissions

All citations must be consistent throughout the manuscript. Footnotes for legal articles should follow the Bluebook standard.

5. Originality & Plagiarism Policy

Submissions must be original and free from plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content above the permissible limit will be rejected immediately.

4. Sharing of Information

LIGLR does not sell, share, or distribute personal information to third parties, except:

  • When required by law

  • For indexing, archiving, or digital repository purposes (with appropriate protections in place)

5. Cookies & Website Analytics

The website may use cookies and basic analytics tools to enhance user experience. These do not collect personal identifiable information.

6. User Rights

Users may request:

  • Correction of inaccurate personal data

  • Removal of their account or profile

  • Clarification of how their data is used
