Peer Review Policy

The NovusMed Journal of Health & Pharmaceutical Sciences (NMJHPS) follows a rigorous and ethical double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest academic standards. All manuscripts are evaluated fairly, independently, and without bias.

1. Double-Blind Review System

Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the peer review process. Authors must ensure that manuscripts do not contain any identifying information.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

Each submission is initially assessed by the editorial team for relevance, originality, formatting compliance, and plagiarism. Manuscripts may be desk-rejected if they fall outside the journal’s scope or fail to meet basic academic quality requirements.

3. Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two qualified reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

Quality and depth of research
Originality and contribution to medical and health sciences
Methodological soundness
Clarity, coherence, and scientific presentation

4. Review Timeline

Editorial screening: 1–2 weeks
Peer review: 6–10 weeks
Final decision: approximately 12 weeks

Accept
Minor revisions required
Major revisions required
Reject

6. Reviewer Responsibilities

Provide objective, constructive, and scholarly feedback
Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscripts
Declare any conflicts of interest
Submit timely and ethical evaluations

7. Ethical Standards

NMJHPS adheres to international publication ethics, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions undergo plagiarism screening. Unethical manuscripts are rejected and, where necessary, may be reported to the author’s institution.
